When do we say enough?

When is it enough?

You listen to the Radio or watch TV and the world is wanting to expand. But yet the arenas are empty, the unemployment is high, jobs are tough. But the rich say, lets expand. Other markets, avenues, etc.. The NCAA wants to expand its Basketball Playoff to 96 teams. To add more drama, to expand markets, whatever. What I think the heads of the NCAA doesn’t realize, that the first two rounds are a Las Vegas Followed event. I am sure the Gonzaga’s, East Carolina, etc.. are happy that they are in it, and the 25 or so alumm’s are excited to watch the first two rounds with the Duke guy or the NC Guy in the next cubicle over. But lets call a spade a spade. Las Vegas biggest days are New Years Day, the Superbowl, and then tournement week and the big dance. More games, more betting. People who watch sports work, those who do not work, do not have ESPN. Do you know, Cable, internet and cell phones on average is an expense of $2400 a year. $2400 a year. But why do you think that some groups do not mind being in an empty arena. They make the money off of that fat cable bill we pay.

So if the NCAA expands, will they pass off any losses to themselves? Nope, a higher TV fee. So yes, you have to pay to have ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sports etc.. Your cable company will have to raise your rates, and you will not have a choice, as it will be like .50 cents a day, no big deal right! At the end of the year it is another $160 dollars here or there. If your cable company doesn’t raise the bill, they will not get the games, and they will say how your cable company is a evil baron who is netting billions a year. But really, you will pay, and like it, or you can go without.
